One Faith is an evangelical church founded in the light of Reformed theology. What does it mean? ‘Reformed’ means that our church is shaped by Reformed theological belief, trusting wholly in the sovereign grace of God in and over all things. ‘Evangelical’ means that we are persuaded that the essence of Christianity is about ‘evangel’ - people are reconciled into God only through the unique Gospel work of Jesus Christ.
We affirm the Apostles' Creed (from 2nd century AD) and Nicene Creed (AD 325) as ecumenical expressions of the Christian faith, and that we pursue a belief that is consistent with the creeds. We also affirm three confessions - the Belgic Confession (first written in 1561), the Heidelberg Catechism (written in 1563) and the Westminster Confession (originally published in 1647) as the expressions of Christian faith, whose doctrines fully agree with the Word of God.
Among all, Apostles' Creed is the mostly known:
APOSTLES' CREED
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic* church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.*that is, the true Christian church of all times and all places
