Youth Ministry Worker (Part-Time)

About the Role

We are prayerfully seeking a Youth Ministry Worker who loves Christ and has a heart to walk alongside young people as they grow in their relationship with God.

This role is well suited to someone who is still developing in ministry experience and is eager to learn, be mentored, and serve alongside our pastoral team. The successful applicant will support the youth ministry through building relationships, assisting with weekly programs, and growing in ministry skills through hands-on involvement and guidance.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with weekly youth gatherings and activities, supporting the spiritual growth and discipleship of young people

• Share the gospel faithfully with young people and encourage them to grow as disciples and witnesses for Christ

• Support Bible teaching and discipleship through small groups, fellowship and conversations

• Work alongside and encourage youth volunteers, assisting with program coordination

• Communicate and work closely with parents and church leaders

• Encourage young people to participate meaningfully in the worship and life of the church

Requirements

Essential

• A committed Christian aligned with the Reformed evangelical convictions and vision of our church

• A heart for young people and a desire to disciple and walk alongside them

• Teachable, dependable, and willing to be mentored, serving humbly as part of a team

• Able to relate well to young people and build trusting, Christ-centred relationships

• Culturally sensitive and comfortable serving in a multicultural church community

• Good communication and teamwork skills

• A valid Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain one)

Desirable

• Experience serving with youth or children

• Some ministry or theological training

Employment Details

Paid part-time position (approximately 8–10 hours per week on average), including Sundays and preparation time. Depending on ministry needs, the role may also involve Friday evenings. Hours can be discussed and adjusted based on the applicant’s availability.

Accountability & Support

The Youth Ministry Worker will serve under the guidance of the Lead Pastor and ministry leadership team, and will receive ongoing mentoring, training and support.
